Christmas Bureau Applicants

The Family Services of the North Shore Christmas Bureau offers assistance during the holiday season to low-income families with children 18 years or younger, low-income seniors 65 or older and persons with disabilities living in North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Lions Bay or Bowen Island.

Applications have been mailed out to many 2016 Christmas Hamper recipients. Applications are also available for pick-up at the following locations:

  • Ministry of Social Development & Social Innovation – North Shore Employment & Income Assistance.
  • The Harvest Project
  • North Shore Multicultural Society
  • Ministry of Children & Family Development
  • Salvation Army
  • Family Services of the North Shore 

All applicants will be interviewed to confirm eligibility. After November 6th, call 604-984-9627 to schedule a time to meet with us. You will need your completed application form with all required documentation including:

  • proof of income (recent pay stub or 2016 income tax return)
  • proof of residence (telephone, gas or hydro bill)
  • care cards for each child and
  • proof of PWD status for persons with disabilities

Beginning NOVEMBER 6th, the Christmas Bureau will be open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. While we will accept completed applications until December 2, 2017, we recommend that you apply early to increase our likelihood of matching you with a sponsor.

Please take the time to fill in the “gift suggestion” portion of the application before your interview. Suggesting two or three gift alternatives for each individual is helpful to your sponsor.  If requesting clothing, please provide sizes.  Colour preferences may also be helpful.  Remember, the cost per gift should be no more than $30.
